A complete trauma treatment model, taught by the clinician who built it.

RITTM sequences tools from EMDR, Brainspotting, somatic therapies, Gestalt and parts work into one three-phase approach. Dr. Karol Darsa teaches it in full, then shows it working in fifteen recorded sessions with real clients.

The model

One model. Three phases.
Every tool in its place.

RITTM takes specific tools from established modalities and tells you which one a particular client can tolerate, when, and what to do when they can't. The three modules of the course are the three phases of the model.

  1. Module 1 · 7 hr 44 min

    Stabilization

Trauma neurobiology, grounding and orientation, resource spotting, somatic resourcing, and the readiness criteria before any memory work.

  2. Module 2 · 6 hr 51 min

    Memory processing

Eye spots and eye movements, structured check-ins, frame-by-frame processing, empty chair, body tracking and parts work.

  3. Module 3 · 7 hr 45 min

    Integration and repair

Medication and the rationale for processing, child parts and pendulation, attachment repair, anger and inhabiting parts, co-occurring addiction, and measuring client progress.

The demonstration library

You watch her actually do it.

Fifteen full sessions with three real clients, following each client from the first session on. Most trainings give you one or two demonstrations; this one gives you a library. Center outcome data using the model shows a 90% improvement in trauma symptoms and 61% in anxiety symptoms.

  • 15full sessions
  • 3clients followed
  • 22 hrsof demonstration

Who it's for. Licensed and prelicensed mental health professionals who treat trauma: psychologists, social workers, MFTs, counselors, substance abuse counselors and somatic practitioners. Intermediate level; no prior EMDR or Brainspotting training required. The Stabilization Training is open more broadly to front-line staff in treatment settings. This course does not certify you in EMDR or Brainspotting (available only through EMDRIA and Brainspotting International); it qualifies you to practice within the RITTM framework, and the Stabilization certificate covers stabilization-phase skills only.

From clinicians

In their own words.

“This is the best trauma training I've ever done, and I've done a lot. I feel like I really have some amazing techniques to use now.”
Rachel A.
“It really increased my confidence as a trauma therapist. The training validated a lot of what I was already doing, but also provided me with a lot more tools.”
Michael H.
“All I can say is it works. It really works. This amalgam of all these different modalities is amazing. I feel like it's a gift.”
Robyn
“It's not just a box that I check off my list of trainings. It shows that I've taken the time to learn and understand trauma, and that I'm able to hold space for those individuals.”
Jessica C.

Upon completion, participants will be able to:

Module 1 · Trauma Foundations and the Stabilization Phase 7 hr 44 min

  1. Differentiate trauma from stress and apply the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for PTSD when formulating a case.
  2. Describe the neurobiology of the trauma response and use it to explain a client's symptoms to them in a way that reduces shame and increases engagement.
  3. Summarize the three-phase model of trauma treatment and use it to sequence interventions across a course of therapy.
  4. Apply grounding and orientation techniques to return a dysregulated client to the present moment during a session.
  5. Apply resource spotting and somatic resourcing techniques to build a client's internal stability before any memory processing begins.
  6. Assess a client's readiness to move from stabilization into memory processing, and defer processing when readiness criteria are not met.

Module 2 · Trauma Memory Processing 6 hr 51 min

  1. Apply eye spot techniques to process traumatic memory in a contained way with clients who have completed the stabilization phase.
  2. Distinguish eye spot techniques from eye movement techniques and select between them based on client presentation.
  3. Use structured check-ins during processing to monitor a client's window of tolerance and adjust pacing in real time.
  4. Apply frame-by-frame processing to work through a traumatic memory sequence without overwhelming the client.
  5. Apply empty chair and Gestalt techniques to address relational material that surfaces during trauma processing.
  6. Apply body tracking and parts work to identify and respond to somatic and fragmented presentations within a processing session.

Module 3 · Integration, Attachment and Parts Work 7 hr 45 min

  1. Explain the clinical rationale for memory processing and describe how commonly prescribed psychiatric medications may affect a client's capacity to process trauma.
  2. Apply pendulation techniques to work with child parts while maintaining the client's regulation.
  3. Recognize attachment ruptures as they present in session and apply repair interventions within the therapeutic relationship.
  4. Work therapeutically with anger and with inhabiting parts in clients presenting with relational and developmental trauma.
  5. Adapt trauma treatment for clients with co-occurring addiction, and identify when recovery status contraindicates memory processing.

The certification track adds six hours of scheduled live video conference sessions, dates for which are provided after enrollment; those sessions are not part of the CE program.

Refund and cancellation policy

All programs: You may request a full refund within 14 days of purchase, as long as you have watched less than 20% of the program's videos, including the demonstration sessions, and completed fewer than 20% of its checkpoints. No refund is available once a certificate has been issued for that program. An upgrade from the Stabilization Training to the Clinical Training follows the same rule, counted from the date of the upgrade. Ask from Account settings → Refunds or by email to drdarsa@reconnectcenter.com.

Training + Live Practicum: The recorded training follows the rule above. The live practicum portion is refundable until the first live session of your cohort begins. You may transfer once to a later cohort at no charge. If Reconnect cancels or reschedules a practicum, you may transfer to another date or receive a full refund of the practicum portion. Full refund policy.
